Benefits of Homeschooling

What are the advantages of homeschooling?

Teachers give lessons to many children simultaneously. Homeschooling has a lower teacher-child ratio. Teachers are often obliged to teach a curriculum strictly tied to the school. Parents have the option whether or not the use of Internet resources as a broader source of knowledge. Other reasons parents consider themselves better able to teach: They are better aware of the needs of their child.

Professor Ralph D. Mawdsley of Cleveland State University (1992):
“Teachers in such traditional highly-structured school meetings are challenged with a Herculean task: for a few hours each week they must instruct students about whom they may know very little. They must also present course content in which students may have little interest. Home education provides a unique setting. A setting in which the parents, who usually furnish much of the instruction, are aware of and can accommodate in a special way the needs and interests of their children. ”

Finally homeschooling also protects children from negative social aspects of the school, for example bullying.
